Goin' to the Chapel.....
For those of you waiting on pins and needles for a blog, this one’s for you. I don’t have much time today since everyone is hustling and bustling to prepare for the wedding this evening. Daddy, grandpa and I had a guy’s morning today – traipsing through the rice fields and then a breakfast of champions. You might already have guessed what that meant for Meema and mommy…..footloose and fancy free! They bolted from the compound as fast as you can say abracadabra! Off they went trying to hail a transport – that was a trick since drivers don’t emerge from their houses until mid-morning. Finally they sweet talked some gentleman into taking them to Bali Buddha – a terrific health food joint serving all sorts of yummy goodness. The driver happened to know Steve, the New Yorker we’re renting our bungalow from. After breakfast they headed to Wayan’s. For those of you who’ve read Eat, Prey, Love, that would be the healer talked about in the book. While there, they met this fantastic yoga woman from LA – happens that we have friends in common…Girish and Virginia! Yet another small world story. She’s coming to the wedding tonight. Mommy’s having a 3 hour massage/healing session with Wayan tomorrow – she’s practically jumping over the moon about the experience! When departing, Wayan offered to give mommy herbs ‘to make good sex’ – she knew about the wedding and thought I might want some. Funny lady! Meanwhile, back at the farm….we ran out of water! Proof! Just like that….not even a drip from the faucet. Normally this wouldn’t present a problem; however, today is obviously a different story. Meema needs a shower and bad! Off they go into the rice fields in search of Made’s house to solve this problem. This is when mommy wished Blackberry’s existed in the country! They couldn’t figure out which house was his and just as they were about to give up….they spot Made’s dog wandering in the fields. Immediately they back their bus up and start following him until voila! Right to Made’s doorstep. Problem sort of solved – Made’s at the temple for yet another ceremony. We’re hoping he catches wind of our problem and rescues us. If not, we’re off to grandpa’s hotel for a shower. Daddy and grandpa are having a spa day today. Meema and mommy went yesterday but Meema didn’t really make it home in a timely fashion. We left her while she was getting a pedicure as she convinced us that she was ever so confident she knew the way to San Jose. Somewhere along the lines she made a wrong turn and an hour and a half later….she finally shows up at the house. We now know not to leave her without a GPS hooked up to her brain. She recovered from her heat stroke and we all made it out to our 'rehearsal dinner'. Grandpa presented mommy with a beautiful bracelet that was grandma Bobbe’s. It’s lovely and mommy is very touched and honored to have it. Gotta run....this is all I have time for – I must freshen up and get the stink off of me so I don’t offend this evening. Stay tuned for photos tomorrow. Ohhhh….mommy has recovered from her Bali belly but the 3 drinks she had last night isn’t really helping her cause today!
