Yesterday we were feeling generous so we gave Adri the day off and sent her to linger around the streets of Nice for the day. Daddy dropped her off at the bus stop in the next village over, along with jack and Meema. We all wished them luck in their bus adventure into the city and hoped they would safely return without incident. Meanwhile back at the farm, Lauren and mama had a leisurely day of cooking. I guess it wasn't that leisurely since they had little people to look after. Mama concocted a tomato and basil tart which had to have the basil surgically removed post baking since it burned. Where was adri when we so desperately needed her? In addition to that, there was baked polenta with goat cheese and caramelized onions which was then drizzled with honey. in mamas opinion, none of it was all that tasty but as she likes to say from time to time, every day can't be the 4th of July. The real doohickey of the night was lauren's bread pudding with a chocolate sauce inspired by the nuns of the mountain. We made a visit to a monastery last week and picked up some cocoa powder that the nuns had made. Of course

Lauren turned it into liquid deliciousness. It was a lovely evening but thank goodness adri is returning to the kitchen in the very near future!
