We hosted our Second Annual Cookie Decorating & Christmas Tree Destruction Party today, minus the Christmas tree portion of it since we're only sporting a 14 inch tree this year. You'd think we'd be experts in the cookie decorating department since we've done this before but not so. All eleven of us kids would rather bypass the decorating gig and just eat the frosting. Shovel it into our mouths as fast as can be. What's 5 cups of powdered sugar and one cup of butter shared amongst friends? And then smear it all over the table. In every possible crack and crevasse. All the while, throwing the little cookie toppings every which way. Then there were brownies, Mexican tea cookies times 2 batches since Mimi brought some yummy ones with her, and pumpkin bread. Mommy thought she'd be a smarty pants and plop down a tray of carrots and hummus, cheese and grapes right smack in the center of all the cookie chaos - thinking we'd be more interested in the healthy options. After all of this, we managed to polish off a pizza. And then wash it down with yes, more cookies. This year we had a guest of honor as you might have guessed from the lovely photos. He was granted access into The Housewives of the Bay Area. What a lucky duck he was to have witnessed our playgroup insanity. Thankfully, Adam has a fantastic sense of humor. Sadly for the ladies, his wit is way too quick for the them, as was evident from the look of the deer in the headlights while Adam was making funnies. I think all the mommy's are just trying to cope and stay afloat and now their brains are on permanent disability. At any rate, it was a pleasure to have a man in mix - hopefully we didn't scare him off. The upside of having Adam as a playmate in the group is that his lady is a shrink and who doesn't need a friend who can help out in a pinch???????
