We took an adventure to the air museum today and saw some really cool World War II airplanes. It's located on the perimeter of the airport so I got to see lots of planes take off up close as can be. And a helicopter too. For $20 they'll give you a 5 minute ride in the sky. I was more scared of the loud noise than really interested in the thought of taking a ride. I got to paint an airplane and also sit inside a really really old bomber of some sort. We happen to have known the gentleman who built this museum and while talking to one of the volunteer veterans there, we divulged the fact that we used to live next door to him. Bob Pond, the museum founder, was a very wealthy yet lovely man. He had a car collection that could rival Jay Leno. As well as a collection of war planes. Anyhow, all the volunteer could say back to us was, 'wow, you must be really rich to have lived next door to Bob.' Funny considering the guy was a really great fella and one could have said a million complimentary things about him other than that! We just told him that we lived in the custom built, spacious house that was erected just for the butler and that we were in charge of his entire estate. The truth of the matter is that Bob used to pay mommy lots and lots of money every year to decorate his family's 25 foot Christmas tree. And then another wad of cash to take the decorations down. Still not sure why this wasn't the butler's job. She also used to sneak over the butler's fence and play tennis on their court. Her only disappointment was that they never put up lights so she could play at night. To solve that problem, she just brought over a flood light and carried on with her game. Clever lady my mommy is.
