Jake Griswold here. We've been on a road trip....to LA to see the Glicksters and now we're planted here in PS with Meema for another 2.5 weeks. We were greeted by rain and lots of it so we haven't been out frolicking just yet. Looks like the clouds are parting today so we're going for a morning bike ride soon. I'm possessed by a sleep disorder of sorts so it hasn't been a honeymoon around here. If only I could sleep through the night. Not to mention, let Meema put me to bed. The other night was a disaster and when M&D (mama & daddy) blew threw the door at 9pm after a relaxing mani/pedi and dinner, Sophie and I scurried like rats to greet them at the door while screaming and laughing like goofballs. Meema was found by the sheriff curled up in bed hiding under the sheets. Oh dear is right! She's always been able to manage the bedtime routine with such grace and finesse but we've decided to throw her a curve ball. Last night after mama and Meema got home from Granny yoga, Meema put Sophie to bed but made the fatal mistake of leaving her reading glasses in her room. She tip toed back in to retrieve them and while she was ducking for cover in the corner because Sophie was stirring, Sophie quietly climbed out of her crib and made a mad dash out the door and into mommy's headquarters. The funny part of it all was that Meema thought she was still snug as a bug in a rug in her crib. So while Sophie was babbling in a completely different room, Meema was at the door trying to Shhhh her and get her to fall back asleep. It wasn't until she turned around and saw Sophie standing before her that she realized she'd been duped! Could this be a sign of old age? Or just an exhausted woman who we've run down already? It's only day 4 here - she is going to be in big trouble. Especially come next weekend when she's in charge while M&M go on their spa vacation for the weekend. Sophie and I are going to regroup soon and get our act together....an attempt to find our sweet, mellow side that exists some where deep within our souls. It's been lost in space because the two of us have become maniacs as of late. Or should I say, Sophie has become one as I've been one for some time!
