Seems like our family vacations always yield a bevy of material to blog about. Are we just so fascinating or just plain delusional?
For starters, being a Glick means your DNA was gifted a few superpowers. One being the ability to sleep. For hours. In some cases, naps run into dinner and then just keep going into the night, all the way into the morning. Then eighteen hours later when you wake up, you realize that your other superpower, eating, has been totally neglected! This was the scene yesterday when daddy and I went down for our nap at 2pm. It was a glorious slumber of all times!
This morning was a massive cook fest for mama. Her feeble attempt to keep us healthy and nourished during our vacation. Anything to avoid the frito lays and the like. The minute she turned her back on the stove, a very brave little pigeon flew in and tried snacking on quinoa, lentils and pinto beans that were cooking on the stove. Pre-vegetarian days, mama did fancy sinking her teeth into squab. Luckily for this creature, she took a pass and let him have a reprieve.

It was bought to mommy's attention this morning that she lost the car in valet yesterday when she failed to get a ticket. Rather than accept the responsibility, she pointed the finger at the bellman for not doing his job properly. Fortunately the valet geniuses were able to locate our vehicle and no claims or lawsuits were filed! Yet another crisis averted.
So now here we sit at a nature preserve reef that specifically doesn't allow alcoholic beverages. As if this will stop the madam from sucking down a cold libation that she insisted on bringing. daddy gets annoyed by this, i think. its all part of her charm. The high winds are doing a terrific job resurfacing her face too! No need for laser resurfacing in the future as this sandblasting scenario is just what the doctor ordered!

Jacque Cousteau in training

Coppertone poster girl in training. She's fashioning her panties only because her bathing suit has already mysteriously disappeared.

The big kahuna going out to spear fish. Or just going to look at the fish spectacle in the reefs.

The Hawaiian queen....getting her queen on!

Little ms muffet isn't ready to brave the waters just yet.

To be a Glick means that you have no ability to tan. In seconds flat once your skin has been exposed to rays, you burn. Into a crisp. It's a sad state of affairs. Especially when your other half can obtain a luscious tan in just a few days. But then when you're a Glick, you also like to use your sarcasm to your advantage and let the jokes fly about looking like a leather hand bag!
