Aloha!

Buh-bye tax season and hello vacation! We are 32,000 feet high way above any known civilization traveling through the puffy white clouds heading towards the majestic Hawaiian islands for our month long family journey to two different islands. The latest weather report indicates that we are in store for drop dead, perfect conditions! The temperature reducing to a whooping 70 degrees in the evenings. We are equipped with one brand spanking new iPad (thankful for Apple's amazing warranty program) and 3 iPhones so theoretically, no one should utter a peep for the 5 hour jaunt to nirvana. We are also traveling in tow with 3 cheese sandwiches, 2 Salami sandwiches, 5 fuji apples, 4 bananas, 22 raw nut balls, a pineapple, gigantic greek olives, 4 gluten free zucchini muffins and a salad for you know who. And yet Sophie is pestering us to buy something from the horrid food cart. The crime of all crimes! Unless she's in possession of her own wad of cash, she'll eventually succumb to the powers that be. Mom and dad are sporting some gorgeous lei's thanks to dad's smooth moves in obtaining them yesterday and surprising mama with them this morning. They've both just had a chill pill and are in their happy zone preparing for the month ahead that is about to unfold before them. The first week in Waikiki includes a kids club. Whoot! Whoot! Give it up for freedom! And long, adult-only dinners. And whatever other messes mama can get them in to. Mama has just a few things on her to do list that shes hoping to accomplish. All the yoga that she can possibly cram in to her days plus some surfing. Long, quiet walks on the beach. Hiking in the pristine wilderness. She wants to cook the least amount of food possible. Read at least one of the three books that she brought. Arise from bed after 9am. Take long afternoon naps while the ocean breeze creates tranquility in her world. And have at least one Hawaiian cocktail before 5pm on a daily basis. All of these things sound fairly reasonable and most likely achievable. I will most definitely keep you posted on her progress!
