We set sail on a small boat (more like a dingy) a bit after sunrise to head out on a Nemo finding fishing adventure with our new hombre, Captain Moses. Prior to this escapade we had to thoroughly check him out with the yoga teacher/restaurant owner to confirm he wasn't part of the cartel. We surely didn't want to end up being the ones used as fish bait. Or cemented to the bottom of the sea for failing to comply.
As luck would have it, the vegetarian who's now a carnivore was first up to reel in our catch.
A small little dinky fish....but as she always preaches, less is more.
The ranchero flexed his muscles a bit more than mama had to. He landed himself in the hot seat and caught us some good eats!
This my friends, is a dorado. Otherwise known as Mahi Mahi and when you sink your teeth into a filet, you are transported to heaven. Having to watch the guys whack it over the head with a stick is not so nice. Its razor sharp teeth will sever your hand off if the deed isn't done. Three out of four of us now require some sort of therapy for our PTSD.
Our little ranchita regurgitated her breakfast burrito only after an hour into our trip. Poor girl was sea sick and not enthralled by the adventure so we aborted our mission and headed for an island.
Ahoy, we landed here and in good hands!! And this here is our delicious lunch which will be cooked up and served to us beachside.
Assume the position while people bring you things. Coconuts, margaritas, chips and salsa, ceviche, yada yada.
Doesn't get better than this spread. Fish prepared three different ways. Mama Mia it was a taste bud dance-athon.
And then there's this. Completely passed out and of no use to anyone.
I know it comes as no surprise but mama has her moments too. 2 grande margaritas and she's transported to her happy place! The adults had no choice but to leave this guy in charge.......
El Capitan Moses (and his dingy) who took such amazing care of us. Kept us safe and out of harms way.
We were left to our own devices so we put on a show for those coherent folks that needed a chuckle.
