Our third annual holiday party went off without a hitch today. Nobody got hurt, nothing was broken and the mamas actually got to some quality time together. Thanks to an art project, TV, pizza and dessert, the 9 of us kids were well entertained and played nicely together. The mamas dined over a carmelized onion and pepper tart with a macadamia nut ricotta and slow roasted tomatoes, sautéed carrots and leeks, a warm brussel sprout salad, and a goat cheese, roasted beet and pecan salad. Dessert included chocolate chips cookies, lemon shortbread cookies and a raspberry lemon loaf. Mimi brought a wonderful wine from the winery she works at and I also spotted 3 empty bottles of beer cider that happens to be the favorite beverage at the moment. All the while, there was roaring laughter coming from the dining room and what seemed like 5 normal, happy go lucky ladies enjoying a lovely afternoon. We weren't privy to the juicy discussions going on but they seemed pretty darn fascinating. There was even a white elephant gift exchange and the lucky winner was Xanah who got the back massager. There was then a post private party with Mel....the fun never ends here at insanity central. We are now frantically trying to prepare for our departure on Saturday morning to papa and grandma's. One of our favorite friends Erin is coming over tomorrow night to massage mama and daddy so they are totally zoned out for our drive to LA. They sure do know how to live the good life!!!!
